Sugbo Jam has Arrived!!!

Last night the SDR Crew was busy putting together the final pieces to the much anticipated Sugbo Jam Comics No.1 and might I say that excitement filled the air as we put together the actual hard copy pages page by page and manually folding it to the desired effect resembling a comic book and we were pleased of its outcome all in all. The pic above is the actual 50 copies folded and hung minus the covers which will be put lastly after which it will be trimmed and packed with loving goodness for all of you readers out there. Nice to be a part of the SDR Crew, we're like damn proud parents. So, whats left for us now is you people to buy our stuff and help support the Cebu Comic Book Scene and give us some love for just a meager Php 60.00 of your budget and spare time to read what we came up with and hope you get to enjoy it as much as we did. So, holler back and will come a-runnin'. Peace.

Comic Book Pro John Amor reads Captin N12

Last Saturday, the SDR Crew met up with Cebu's comic book awesome man and podcast extraordinaire John Amor for a drink and draw session at Gerry's Grill Ayala together with other cool Cebuano artist. Here's a pic of him (with Mike) holding his copy of Captin N12 Issue 1. The crew had a great time as usual and help inspire us to thrive into putting out more comic book goodness in the near future. Thanks to all who came and then some. :)

Some preview for Sugbo Jam Komiks Anthology

At last we are done with Captin N12 #1.Never thought i would finish this book.It's three years in the making.

After we've done packing this issues, i felt really happy that at last i made a comic book. I felt that... it's like watching your baby sprouting on your wife's vagina.Hehehehehe!!!!! I will work fast on issue two, which is due on October i think. I really thank my SDRC buddies who helped me out, chummy & Sued, Bobols. Thank you very much man. Hope this will inspire us all to make more comics in the near future.hehehehehe!!!!

Captin N12 Issue No. 1 Preview

Hello, Chummy here, Motmot is still busy. :)

Finally, Issue No. 1 is almost done, a couple of layouts here and there and the SDR Crew will be all set come July 30, 2009. All I can say is Kudos to Motmot for doing a tremendous job on getting his baby out to the wild and tnx for letting me hitch in for the ride on this project of yours. It has been a great learning experience and I so do hope we finally begin our project also for the next release soon. Nuff said people. Enjoy the previews. Comments are highly appreciated.

Captain N12 pin-up

I promised Motmot that I do a pin-up on Captain N12 and I do hope he likes this one much as I could muster, my steam is off lately and Captain N12's release is coming pretty nearly this July and we are all excited on releasing it to the unprepared public. Motmot told me just now that I forgot to put on Captain N12's logo which is a phallic symbol as best that I can describe it which to my dismay I haven't noticed on one of his drawings. heheheh.sorry dude, next time or we can always photoshop it or something. Now on to doing my own thing, which is still nada. A two pager Bobo the Clown story. Hope you net folks like this. Nuff said.

Over the weekend the SDR crew met up at some mall to update ourselves on this project/endeavor that we are up to. The guys decided that it is imperative that we update this blogsite come Monday (well whadaya know, its today) which suffice it to say the other guys beat me to it by posting something relevant here. This is just a character reference sketch-to-ink piece, no wow factor here like the title is implying, it is subject to change without prior notice/or whenever I feel like changing the character design due to some error unforseen now and that reinventing this character would be the only solution. This is relative to what was posted awhile back in my blog. So without further adieu I give you the STREETCLEANER : Getting rid of Societal Scum One Street at a Time, the harbinger of justice, the man that puts the F in fear, the, uhm, uh, whatever (click on the image for better performance):

The Streetcleaner is basically a vigilante by night kinda superhero genre of which the Batman is popular of but not limited to. Daredevil, Hawksmoor, Moonknight and the Punisher to name a few to add that list of what has inspired this thingamajig of a character and hopefully I can pull it off (no concrete story yet but alot is already transpiring in my mind, which is the only thing I am good at) . He stalks/hounds/monitors the streets where he lives in at night and getting rid of scum just for kicks on the side. Heres a fun fact also, below is the actual first character sketch I did of the Streetcleaner in a cartoony style that I am fond of. The above piece is my attempt at doing a typical comicbook superhero sequential and the original sketch wouldn't really cut-it really it would border into the ridiculous if I would persue it but who knows, any suggestions?:


...and by the way, this is piece will not be included in our hopefully July 2009 release which is going to be Captain N12 Issue 1. This here will be for a future separate release hopefully if all goes through. I promised Motmot (you spelled my nickname wrong again dude! :) ) anyway that I will contribute a filler piece to be included in the initial release, a two pager maybe about a clown, a boy, in outerspace and lots of blood and guts spilling everywhere...but all that will be for another post....hehehehe....

Well, this is a quick character study for...er a character on the few page comics that i am doing. nothing much really, it's just a regular race bike driver. I'll be posting some more once i get the chance!

Hello Guys! Mot2x here,

Here's a quick over-view of our comics Captin N12 which is due for release in July for SDRC.

N12 Kinatao (a.k.a Opaw) and me and Ruben Jr. (Bobols) decided to create a superhero who will not look dumb wearing his under-wear after his tights (Because of the reason on the second paragraph) but will look dumber wearing a condom as a mask.hehehehe!!!

The under-wear that Captin N12 wear is a powerfull brief that will give him strength and increases his self-confidence (if you know what i mean) which will be the main target for his villians in the succeeding issues .

So that ends my quick over-view for my character, now its time for Sued and Chummie for thier quick over of thier characters.
